- Connect Without WiFi Protected Setup
Connect With Wifi Protected Setup
Connecting by WiFi Protected Setup is the simplest way of connecting a smart printer to a WiFi. Go for this method if your router has a physical WPS push button so that you won't have to enter your network password each time you need to connect. The following steps below are quick and easy.
Step 1. Switch your printer on. Press and hold the button with the WiFi icon on top of the printer until the alarm lamp flashes.
Step 2. You will need to see if the lamp, which is next to the WiFi button, flashes blue. Once it does, go to your WiFi router or hub and then press the WPS button within 2 minutes. Refer to your router's user guide for details and instruction on starting its WPS.
Connect Without Wifi Protected Setup
In case your WiFi router doesn't support WPS, use this method to connect your Canon PIXMA printer.
Step 1. If the operating system of your computer is Windows, place the CD that came along with your printer in your computer and run the setup. After you see the initial installation screen pops up, click on [Next].
Step 2. This will lead you to connect your printer to your network. Choose [Connect to the network] and then click [Cableless setup].
Step 3. When the [Connection via Cableless setup] screen pops up, press the printer's [WiFi] button until the orange alarm lamp flashes two times, then release after the second flash.

Step 8. Confirm to the end-user license agreement by clicking on [Yes].
Step 9. When you see on the screen, Please Allow All Install Wizard Processes, click on [Next].
Step 10. When your screen shows setup has been completed, click [Complete].
